About the Fund

Mark A. Stu­art is cur­rent­ly the longest-tenured gay leader of a $1 bil­lion+ com­mu­ni­ty foun­da­tion in the US. As Pres­i­dent and CEO of San Diego Foun­da­tion, Mark leads the orga­ni­za­tion in advanc­ing equi­ty and oppor­tu­ni­ty for all San Die­gans. He is a cre­ative and sea­soned fundrais­er who has raised more than $1.7 bil­lion in his 34-year career. Mark’s lead­er­ship at San Diego Foun­da­tion focus­es on strate­gic ini­tia­tives that dri­ve com­mu­ni­ty impact, includ­ing the launch of the Nation­al Rain­bow Col­lege Fund, ded­i­cat­ed to sup­port­ing all stu­dents, with an effort to reduce edu­ca­tion­al dis­par­i­ties for those who have faced bar­ri­ers relat­ed to sex­u­al ori­en­ta­tion, gen­der iden­ti­ty or gen­der expres­sion. Mark is com­mit­ted to fos­ter­ing inclu­sive growth and cre­at­ing path­ways for edu­ca­tion­al and social advance­ment.
