
Dr. Becky Petitt
Dr. Becky Petitt brings more than 25 years of expeÂriÂence in equiÂty, diverÂsiÂty and incluÂsion work across the highÂer eduÂcaÂtion comÂmuÂniÂty. She curÂrentÂly serves as Vice ChanÂcelÂlor for EquiÂty, DiverÂsiÂty and IncluÂsion at UC San Diego and is a memÂber of the Chancellor’s CabÂiÂnet. Petitt helps lead UC San Diego in proÂducÂtive colÂlabÂoÂraÂtive partÂnerÂships throughÂout the camÂpus and with exterÂnal conÂstituents to catÂalyze change.
PriÂor to UC San Diego, Becky served as AssoÂciate Vice PresÂiÂdent and Chief of Staff for the Office of DiverÂsiÂty at Texas A&M UniÂverÂsiÂty. She also worked as an adjunct facÂulÂty memÂber in the Texas A&M UniÂverÂsiÂty ColÂlege of EduÂcaÂtion and Human DevelÂopÂment with scholÂarÂship focused on diverÂsiÂty in highÂer eduÂcaÂtion, culÂturÂal comÂpeÂtence, orgaÂniÂzaÂtionÂal develÂopÂment, and incluÂsive teachÂing and cliÂmate.
Becky holds a bachelor’s degree in psyÂcholÂoÂgy, and received both master’s and docÂtorÂate degrees in eduÂcaÂtion from Texas A&M UniÂverÂsiÂty.
