Publicly Traded Securities

Donat­ing pub­licly trad­ed secu­ri­ties is a tax-effi­cient way to give. By con­tribut­ing stocks, bonds or mutu­al funds, you can sup­port our mis­sion and reduce your cap­i­tal gains tax­es.

Donor-Advised Funds

DAFs offer a flex­i­ble way to sup­port the Nation­al Rain­bow Col­lege Fund. Rec­om­mend a grant from your fund to pro­vide crit­i­cal schol­ar­ships to LGBTQ+ stu­dents.

Qualified Charitable Distribution from your IRA

If you are 70½ or old­er, you can make a tax-free dona­tion direct­ly from your IRA. A QCD helps you meet your required min­i­mum dis­tri­b­u­tion (RMD) while sup­port­ing LGBTQ+ stu­dents.

Planned Gifts

Our team can help you inte­grate phil­an­thropy into your estate plan­ning. Planned gifts, such as bequests and char­i­ta­ble trusts, ensure your lega­cy sup­ports future LGBTQ+ stu­dents.

What types of donations can I make to the National Rainbow College Fund?

We offer sev­er­al dona­tion options, includ­ing one-time gifts, month­ly dona­tions, and major gifts. You can con­tribute online, via check, or through oth­er meth­ods like stock or planned giv­ing.

How will my donation be used?

Your dona­tion direct­ly sup­ports schol­ar­ships for LGBTQ+ stu­dents pur­su­ing high­er edu­ca­tion. Funds are used to pro­vide finan­cial assis­tance and remove bar­ri­ers to edu­ca­tion for stu­dents in need.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes! The Nation­al Rain­bow Col­lege Fund is pow­ered by San Diego Foun­da­tion, a reg­is­tered 501(c)(3) non­prof­it orga­ni­za­tion, mean­ing your dona­tion is tax-deductible.

Can I set up a recurring donation?

Yes! We offer the option to set up month­ly recur­ring dona­tions. This helps sus­tain our pro­grams and sup­port more stu­dents in the long term. You can eas­i­ly man­age your recur­ring dona­tions online.

How can I donate stock or make a planned gift?

The Nation­al Rain­bow Col­lege Fund accepts dona­tions of stock and planned gifts. For more infor­ma­tion on how to donate stock or to dis­cuss options for a bequest or oth­er planned giv­ing oppor­tu­ni­ties, please con­tact our team direct­ly.

What if I want to contribute a larger donation or a corporate gift?

We wel­come large and cor­po­rate dona­tions. For major gifts, sponsorships,or cor­po­rate part­ner­ships, please get in touch with our devel­op­ment team to dis­cuss how we can best accom­mo­date your gen­er­ous con­tri­bu­tion.

How do I make a gift using a donor-advised fund (DAF)?

If you have a donor-advised fund, you can eas­i­ly rec­om­mend a grant to the Nation­al Rain­bow Col­lege Fund. Sim­ply reach out to your DAF admin­is­tra­tor and pro­vide them with our fund details and EIN (95–2942582).
